About
French in origin, Precoce de Burgnogne is likely a clone but it is unknown exactly from which variety. Established in 1977, translated its name means 'Early Burgundy' and it is very closely related to the Tardif de Bourgogne and Elsaesser varietals. While it is listed as an aroma hop, little tasting information exists on Precoce de Bourgogne. It was at one time grown commercially in small quantities in its native Alsace but it is not clear if this is still the case.
