Nordgaard is an old Belgian or Danish landrace that has been used for breeding, particularly in Solvenia in the 1970's. It's exact origin is unclear. The result of Spalt crossed with an unknown variety, it is said to impart pleasant continental aroma characteristics and is high in humulene.
