About
Slovenian hop Neoplanta hails from a combination between Northern Brewer, Styrian Golding and a wild Slovenian male. First appearing in the late 1960's, the variety was bred alongside Vojvodina and Dunav in the hopes of replacing the landrace variety Backa which was suffering from poor yields.
