About
Developed at the Hop Research Institute in Zatec, Czechia, and officially registered in 1941, Lucan was created via clonal selection of the Czech Zatecky Krajovy variety. Known as being one of the Czech Rebublic's oldest varieties, it is also thought likely to be a close relative of Saaz. Noted for its commercially desirable noble aroma qualities and mild bitterness, its yield is marginal in the US, but decent in its native Czechia.
