About

African Queen is a dual-purpose hop that can be used in all hop additions throughout the brewing process. The aroma profile of the African Queen hop includes dank, blueberries, stone fruit, black currant, gooseberries, bubble gum, lemongrass, and chilies. This hop also works well with subtle blended beers such as those with coffee, fruit, and spices.

Origin

African Queen is a diploid seedling selected from a cross between 91J7/25 and an SA male 94US2/118. It was released in 2014. South African hops are usually harvested in the late summer months, which is typically around late February into March.
